British Breeding Members Club

Industry Representation – British Breeding is the only association to represent sport horse breeder’s interests within the three Olympic disciplines of Dressage, Eventing and Show jumping. Each of these three sporting bodies have a seat on the board of British Breeding.

Events – British Breeding organise a number of events and visits throughout the year for the benefit of BB members. These include stud and stallion station visits, behind the scenes visits to top competition yards, young horse training events and breeding seminars. We are also working with event organisers to arrange discounted entry to major equestrian events up and down the country. BB Members are also eligible for discounted entry at the British Breeding Stallion Event for standard and VIP tickets.

We are working with organisers to secure free or discounted entry to events to watch a horse they bred but no longer own compete.

Training and Education – British Breeding provides education for breeders, owners and producers of sport horses. These are a combination of practical workshops, online tutorials and downloadable brochures. Topics cover the preparation of young sport horses, nutrition, veterinary advice, stallion and broodmare selection and many more.

Publications – Members receive a free subscription to the industry leading British Breeder magazine (value £16 per annum) and a free copy of the Competition Stallion Guide. (value £10)

British Bred Awards -  BB members may register their homebred stock into the British Bred Awards scheme. The scheme will provide a powerful incentive for owners and producers to buy and compete British bred stock. Prizes are awarded to eligible British bred Futurity graduates who achieve pre-determined success at national and international competition. Prizes will be split between breeder, owner and rider.

Elite Mare Scheme – The aim of the scheme is to underline the quality of stallions standing in the UK by providing an incentive to mare owners to cover mares proven in sport or at stud with stallions partaking in the scheme. Mares meeting the criteria would be eligible for a subsidised nomination.

Futurity -  reduced entry fees for the world renowned Futurity series

Competition – To encourage the sale of foals and yearlings, members will be able to show their youngstock and broodmares in hand, in BB affiliated sport horse prospect classes. Initially these would be offered for dressage and eventing prospects who would be shown in hand before a BB panel judge. As opposed to the Futurity which offers a fully documented evaluation from a panel of judges, these classes would act as more of a shop window on the traditional county and agricultural show circuit. It would allow owners competition opportunities before their young horse was under saddle. Note: this sort of thing is what I (Sacha) do every day so wouldnt be as hard to pull together as it might appear.

Rewards – Members may receive special discounts from our partners by quoting the codes found in your membership pack.
