He is by the Multiple supreme champion Part bred arab Murraybrook Moriarty and CHAPS graded star status mare Abbeywoods Aphrodite. But even more exciting background to his breeding is the stallion Weltruhm, by the famous dressage stallion Weltmeyer. who his damsire to the famous showjumping sire Argentan I. His offspring includes Aramis (who competed at Olympic/World Championships level) and his most famous son, the prolific jumping sire Argentinus, whose offspring include Arko III (ridden by Nick Skelton at the Olympics and European Championships), and also All Star 5, Thunder van de Zuuthoeve, and Adlantus.

Dave has good confirmation and paces which he inherits from his excellent breeding. Since a foal, he has competed and won various classes and qualifiers with many evening performances. He is a perfect gentleman and safe, easy to handle by children and adults with good manners and wonderful temperament to pass on to his progeny and is currently stabled next to his best buddy mare called miracle.

As a foal, Dave was Champion in the CHAPS Foal Futurity and Reserve Champion in the Breeders Challenge classes. He was presented for the SPSS youngstock evaluation as a yearling and 2-year-old, gaining Premiums both times and was awarded an SPSS Gold Premium in 2019 when he was licensed with the judges giving 8s for his walk, which they described as “active” and also his trot, which they described as having “good rhythm and expression”. Overall, they said that he was “a pleasing pony colt with a great future ahead of him”. He is also licensed with Arab horse Society with 43.23% part-bred Arab.

He also gained Gold Premium at the British Breeding Futurity Evaluations 2019 as an eventing sports pony. The Futurity evaluators noted that his jumping was both bold and brave and awarded him a high score of 9 with a promising future. He was invited back to the British Breeding Equine Bridge Programme under saddle due to being a high scorer as a 3-year-old.

He is out competing under saddle with his owner Sarah and is showing real promise with his jumping which he loves and excels at. He currently has 20 BD points and consistently clearing 80cm showjumping and happily schooling around XC 80cm. He also competed at CHAPS Championships, and Hickstead National show, gaining wins and placings at both.
