We are delighted to announce that Rik Van Miert has accepted our invitation to be the international Futurity evaluator this year. He will be assessing all Futurity foals and horses alongside our national experts from each discipline.
Rik looks back on a long and successful career of breeding and competing with his home bred horses. Not only is he a highly experienced evaluator of foals and horses of all ages, an activity for which he has travelled all over the world, he is also one of the founding participants of the World Breeding Federation of Sports Horses, of which he was Vice President for many years. He is also on the board of “The Memorial Eric Wauters Horse Show” a 5* 5 day show held at Mechelen in memory of the founder of the WBFSH Mr Eric Wauters of the BWP. His work on the Board of the the BWP has overseen its rise to one of the world's leading studbooks in all Olympic disciplines, and his contribution has been recognised in a special award earlier this year.
It will be a great pleasure to welcome Rik van Miert to the Futurity evaluations and to introduce him to the great achievements of British breeders from all three Olympic disciplines.
